Review of the FME user meeting 2008

"The world loves formats"

The opening presentation of the FME user meeting 2008 was held by Don Murray, President and co-founder of Safe Software Inc. In his lecture he emphasized “The world loves formats”.

Users in the GIS and CAD market are confronted with an ever-increasing number of data formats. With more than 225 supported formats the FME 2009 is one of the most efficient and interoperable ETL tools worldwide. The flexibility of FME was demonstrated by the numerous user presentations during the two-day event.

For the first time three parallel sessions were offered, one track of these in English language. With 30 attendees from foreign countries the FME user meeting gets more international. The pleasant atmosphere for knowledge acquisition related to FME technology, the opportunity for networking as well as the evening event with live music contributed to the success of the FME user meeting 2008.
